START OF ZAPIER INTEGRATION

What is Zapier?

Zapier is an online automation tool that connects your favorite apps, such as Gmail, Slack, Mailchimp, and over 1,500 more. You can connect two or more apps to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration.

This feature is completely optional. Without Zapier you can still have leads send directly to yours or a Client’s email address, or any one of the major Auto Responders we directly integrate with. Zapier simply will take this to a new level.

There are many, many different functions you can create using Zapier. Once you understand the power of this tool the possibilities appear almost limitless.

With the help of Zapier you can create all kinds of different actions to take when someone fills in the Opt-in box far beyond just adding a name to your mailing list. Gathering Social Media contact information is just one possibility. In all there are over 1500 Applications to choose from to integrate with.

NOTE: Many sites such as Twitter and Facebook do not allow to do direct messaging from a third party App like Zapier to users you are not already connected with.

It is important to make clear upfront that it is outside the boundaries of our Support Desk to assist or troubleshoot any Zaps you create.

Having said that we will guide you through how to create a couple different Services within Zapier you might be interested in using. If you want to get direct help in creating a Zap to do exactly what you need it to do we would suggest a site like Fiverr or Upwork

Opening a Zapier Account

If you do not currently have a Zapier Account you can use the link at the bottom of this page to sign up. It is a Premium service but there is a free option that allows you to create some of the simpler tasks including the one we will show you here. There is currently no time limit on the free subscription.

Once you have your Zapier account created it is time to think about what exactly you want to do.

Do you want to add visitors to your mailing list, send them a text message on their phone, IM them on Facebook, Twitter or other Social Media sites?

Get your API Key from VAP

To set up Zapier to work with VAP the first thing you will want to do is log into  VAP and select “Account” on the menu at the top of the page.

There you will see your Unique API key.

Copy this code into into a notepad or somewhere where you can access it easily. You will need it on the next steps.

Add VAP App to Zapier Account

All your Zaps you create will always start out by setting up your Video Avatar Pro App in the Zapier Directory.

Log into your Zapier Account. And go to “My Apps” from the menu on your Dashboard. Search for “Video Avatar Pro”

Add VAP App to Zapier Account

Once you Select VAP in your Zapier account it will ask you for your VAP API Key. Enter the Key you saved from inside your VAP account and select to Continue.

Add VAP App to Zapier Account

Now you will see the VAP app under My Connections”

To the right you will see a “Test” button. Select that button and within a couple of seconds it should come back and say it was successful.

VAP is now successfully connected to your Zapier Account.

Create A Trigger

Every  “ZAP” is has at least two components to it.  A Trigger and a an Action.

The VAP App is designed to always be the Trigger. The first action that starts the  ZAP. This would be someone putting in their email address, Phone Number, Social Media ID, etc.

The Action is what takes place once the Trigger happens. Sends visitor an email response, text message, Instant Message, etc. Regardless of what Action you want to happen the  VAP Trigger will always be set up the same way. The next few slides will step you through this process.

Start to Make Your Zap

Choose VAP as Your Trigger

Select Continue

Select VAP Account (possible to have more then one)

Choose which Video Project You Want to Use

Select Continue to Move Forward

Test Your Trigger

Your Trigger is Complete

Need to Select your Action

Now the Trigger portion of your Zap is complete. Regardless of what Action you choose from here the Trigger will always be set up this same way.

As we ourselves try out different Applications to use with the VAP App as a Trigger we will update this guide with information on how to set it up.

If you require assistance on exactly how to set up a particular App to be an Action probably the best place to go is to the support desk of the creators of that App.

Another option would be to go to Freelance sites like Fiverr or Upwork. There you should have no problem finding Zapier experts who for a very reasonable cost be able to set up your Zap for you.
